Get A life!
I spent 111.94 hours on the Internet at home last month. That's about 15.5% of my life (not free time, not waking hours... LIFE). That doesn't count the time that I spend on the Internet looking for docs and things on the net at work and the time I spend surfing it at school (as I'm doing now).
That breaks down to about: >24% of my waking hours are spent on the net 47% of my free time is spent on the net hmmm.... I need a knew hobby perhaps? |

lol, I know what you mean.
I get on the net, and I don't mean to spend 10 hours on it, but I end up doing it anyways. There's so much stuf to do and I get really involved in stuff. I'll get up at 6:00am and dont get off untill like 1:00am. I only leav the computer to get food, drink, answer phone and stuff like that. I'm gana move my phon in the computer room soone so I don't have to wast all that extra time walking to and from when I could be using it to be on the net! |

During my geek years i've had a life for a while and completely lost interest in computers altogheter. Try to do everything you always wanted to, you should get bored at some point!

Hey, as long as it's interesting to you, what's the problem? And if you're productive, so much the better
It may make it harder to find a significant other who's close enough to actually SEE once in awhile, but it's certainly not impossible ![]() |

Well you decide to get involved in a relationship in which case you should automatically spent time with that other. After a few wild nights you will probably forget you even had a computer.

Eh.. my girlfriend and I ought to be married....
She has a theory that I derive some sort of bizarre sexual satisfaction from perl because I'm messing with it and the Internet so much... ermm.. no... I don't find Larry Wall all that attractive... he's not my type ![]() |

Life?? Whats that, since I got ADSL installed a couple of weeks ago I instantly set up a network so now I can just sit in my room and work work work play play play and then when I need something I ICQ someone on the downstairs computer. The only thing I have to figure out now is the bathroom and then I won`t have to budge from the room at all!! hehe

Ctb: lol!
![]() My girlfriend says the only thing she could ever be jealous of is my computer. ![]() But I'm marrying her, not the computer, so she's shut up a bit. |

Hmmm... anyone here ever watch that show Seaquest DSV? I recall an episode once where there were only two people left on earth because everyone had gotten permanently hooked into some sort of game and wound up dead.
Let's see.. we've got people here who are just solving the last hurdle to permanent connection: the bathroom, we've got tons of MMORPGs out there.. yep.. I'd say the human race is well on its way to becoming the first known inorganic life form! |

It reminds me of an old amateur movie but if you ask me that might be the next step in evolution!

Yeah I saw that a long time ago when I actually used to watch TV. Wasn't that the episode where they got stuck in a time warp for 10 or 20 years? Ever since I got my cable connection [working] in April 2002, I have had no life outside of my computer. I just got interested in PHP a couple months ago, but before that I was into some "light" programming in other languages (BASIC,PASCAL,others). Now that it is that time again, I h8 going to school all day becuase I dont get as much time on the computer. Also, since school started I have not been getting too much sleep 'cause of the fact that I have been staying up late (till 12!) coding (Im working on a CMS for my site - about 85-90% finshed ). ![]() Cheers, Joe of 4Life ![]() |

Yea, giant robots were meandering around because they somehow got out of the game (a la MechWarrior). I didn't really like Seaquest, but I remember that one for some reason. Quote:
Heh... you shall learn... you didn't stay up late till you hear a 'thwap' outside the window and realize that the morning paper just arrived... ![]() |
