GO East
For the finest rail experience in the world, try Russia. They are AWSOME. I will never ride a UK train again (tend to hitch anyway). Our Slavic friends really know what engineering is about... same goes for the mechies in Czech (spent some time in a Uni out there and was flabberghasted at the level of study - puts us all to shame). So there's my little rant about trains and stuff.
In the meantime, I had reason to take a train from Bristol to Cambridge last year and it cost (NOT including underground transfer) a total of £105 pounds. Another reason why I won't ever use these things.... So thumbs up to reviving that hitching culture - Meet you on on the sliproad ok? Christo ![]() ps why hasn't anyone fixed my JS bug yet - I'm getting pains here ![]()

3 am and nobody to talk to
But what the hell - now I have my own personal thread, so I can sit here and write replies to myself
And whilst we're on the train theme, I can brag about having travelled on the (apparently) longest train in the world, which carries Iron Ore through the Sahara desert thru R I Mauretania to the coast. It's quite a mad place, and riding the train is even madder - I have a post about it on http://www.spiration.co.uk/travel.php Also on the train theme, I was watching the news the other day and had a quick glimpse of what our much acclaimed train drivers earn here in UK - and it was about 15% more than what I was earning in my last job working for an American Software/management consutancy at a MASSIVE aerospace client here in UK.... makes a nice morsel for me to grump about. hmmm - this cd's getting boring... gonna change it. |
