I realize that Netscape has not been used that much for the past few years, the exception being companies and individuals that despise Micro$oft's IE, but it seems to be official that its time has come.

The article talks about why AOL is dumping it and a lot of interesting history behind it.

I think Mozilla will do just fine, especially with the start of the Mozilla Foundation. Maybe this is best anyway, because 3rd-party companies considering Mozilla won't have to worry about it being under the control of one company.
