How do chat rooms work?
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestioins of what chat room software to use, and how a chat room actually works.
I need to provide a description of chat room operation and was hoping to get some incite.

What do you mean by chatroom software? Chatrooms on websites?

A popular way of building a web based chatroom is using an irc channel with a Java applet as frontend.
