How is Gamespot maintained?
I have always wondered how a site like Gamespot is maintained on a daily basis. An exmaple of what i mean is how they add content and stuff to their pages. They have a HUGE amount of data and all of their pages end in .html How Do they create all of these HTML pages for various games etc.

They got infinite number of monkeys on infinite number of dumb terminals to do all the html coding. That's why it's so difficult to start your own portal because existing ones got all the monkeys.
Or, another possibility, they basically stick data in the database and then use templates to display it. But this theory doesn't sound too realistic....

Holy crap are you serious that it costs that much?
Also what exactly does it do. Is it just content management? Last edited by ironmanx : March 20th, 2003 at 10:01 AM. |

Whoops - sorry, it is $400,000.00 for the system (just checked my CMS directory).

In a nutshell - yes. I believe it is the most costly CMS on the market, and most powerfull. |
