Ya know...They knew what could happen to them, they knew that before joining. And It's people like you that put this country to shame; We are doing our job to remove a tyrant. It takes lives to save lives.

I think there are things back here in the US that require our attention first. Besides isn't it the Iraqis peoples resonsiblibty to remove any tyrants, not ours.

that anti war site is just propaganda.
i'm against war, but when they announce that 6 people die i don't think that's war. 115 people die in car accidents everyday. http://www.caraccidents.com/carsatats.htm maybe bush is an asshole for going to war, it's not just him who decides. but u.s army is still voluntary that means you have an idea what might happen when you join. don't make "killing our youth" deal out of this. emotions too often overpower common sense. |

>> loves to kill our youth.
Web site appears to be run by a Saudi Arabian person. Last time I checked, Saudi Arabia wasn't an American state. So where's the "our youth" coming from. |

That article looks like the typical load of BS. It also had a nice anti-jewish slant, yeah, that adds credibility. Writers like that are just another Xfile reject trying to find conspiracies in everything.
Bush made a tough decision. There were good arguments on all sides as to what should have been done. We all knew it would be unpopular both here and abroad. In the end he is the leader and as such decisions have to be made. Proper decisions are made based on facts, not what will be popular. The protesters all over the world seem to be ignoring simple facts about the various threats Saddam poses, his treatment of his own people, and that sometimes diplomacy and peace are not going to work. We tried sanctions of all sorts, inspections, etc. This went on for a decade and nothing changed. IMHO, we should never have stopped back in 91. That was a huge mistake. That gave Saddam a decade to review his mistakes and rebuild. Because of that mistake this will be a more costly war in money, lives, lost popularity, and probably increased terrorist threat.

You know, I was not in favor of this war, though I could see the arguments for it. However, the current protests really bother me. Some of the protests have become violent (that makes sense, protesting war with violence), but the main problem I have is that they give "comfort to the enemy". By that, I mean that the division in the US that the protests depict gives Saddam hope that if he can hold out long enough then our resolve will deteriorate. This has the end result of causing more lives to be lost on both sides.
Protest all you want before the war starts, but after it's begun, sit down, shut up and do something to help it get over with more quickly.

what's with people?!
if you join the army you should have an idea what might happen if there's war. the word voluntary is the keyword. I don't want to go to war, and if draft i'd rather be a traitor. it's easy to judge when you're not there. but i met people who came back from modern wars. i don't want to end up like them. Also people make too big a deal of the "war". on CNN they announced that 6 people died, yes it's a tragedy and i don't want to see people die. but come on, more people die from cigarettes. every single thing they tell us, show us is a part of nation wide or even world wide propaganda, you judge everything by only what you heard and saw. and you blindly believe that that is the truth. considering how much truth the government tells us. i wouldn't argue about the truth of war. like in one song it said "the truth of war is washed away with blood". anyway since when this is american supporters only forum. location doesn't mean anything. xclnt is a dumbf*ck for making and promoting that site. but i don't think he did it to disrespect the american troops. it was just to let people know how horrible the war is. like rod k said it's useless to protest now since it already started. but saddam doesn't have a chance either way. again emotions overpower common sense. |

Just read the whole thing. Unless you have I really don't care to hear what you have to say. I always make it a point to read everyone elses opinions before I speak.

I'd say that most of you guys are just like Bush.
Somebody comes in with something to be said to which none agreed (not even me). Just shooting him with insults, rejecting him and hence creating an hermetic bubble which causes frictions with others (that is anybody but oneself, not just "the outside world") is not going to arrange anything. Instead just make a rational critic, point out certain points to be destroyed and leave him with a sensation that he learned something rather than being furiously hated and remain another mindless ... whatever. He's been wise enough to at least not reply to any of you guys and avoid another patriotic flamewar which are the most boring IMO. Enough said, last time I had problems because of such posts. P.S.
