Discuss I need help with Direct Connect Hub in the Dev Shed Lounge forum on Dev Shed.

I need help with Direct Connect Hub
I am trying to build a hub with direct connect but I am really confused at how to set it up...If anyone has a hub or is familiar with setting them up and what kind of scripts I will need to run it let me know..Very important..thanks.

No in the direct connect (P2P software sharing program) context, a hub is what people log into to share software with other members of the hub.

Yes Rendy that is the kind of hub I am trying to build but I have no idea of how to get it set-up and get it running..if you know about it and could help me out..please let me know..cuz I am having a difficult time trying to figure it out..I downloaded it and installed it..but I am not sure how to set-up my own hub..I know how to use DCC++..I just don't know how to make my own instead of sharing in public hubs..thanks for your help if you can..

Starting up a hub, are you? I know a few people who run a network of hubs. I'm sure they would be willing to help you if you would be willing to join their network... Open up direct connect and connect to this server: playland.zapto.org . Ask the ops there for help, particularly P ussycat, or DvXJunKiE. I am an op on that hub and my DC nickname is Skate. I am not always on there anymore though..

lol, he's back.

silky: there was a bit of a heated discussion here for a while, and the mods have cut most of it out, and banned chalieboyd3. although he's back, i think we're in need of an IP banning.

It does but it doesnt work when someone goes through different proxies and keeps changing their IP address
