Discuss I would like to thank in the Dev Shed Lounge forum on Dev Shed.
I would like to thank Dev Shed Lounge forum discussing anything that doesn't fit into the other forums. This is a place to relax, talk, and even have some friendly debate. Walk softly and carry a big wiffle bat.

I want to thank SilentRage for ALL the help he has given everyone in the DNS thread.... 2 THUMBS UP smilie

I read the posts he has made and he seems to fix problem after problem..... My hats off to you Sir. SilentRage!!!


Also I learned on his site www.dollardns.net he offers DNS Management.

If you have a Dynamic IP address on your server, this is truly the way to go!!

Lets say your ISP changes your IP address, now you have to go to your domain's register and change your DNS Server's IP address, then wait for up to 72hrs for it to take affect....

Not with dollardns.net!!
You go to www.dollardns.net and login change the IP address and it is fixed when you click the button!!!

So your site can be down for a day, two, maybe three.
Or your site can be down for just minutes!!

I'll take the down for minutes choice thank you......

Ya I know, I have emailed him, But kind of the reason I posted this is to remind people that they should remember that there are some COOL people left in the world and that not everyone is out to get into your pocket. When you find someone like SilentRage that only wants to help people, to thank them for being the person they are, and not just for helping you, but for helping everyone!

Ya know I also would like to thank the Owner, Administrators and Moderators for the GREAT FORUM and HELP they all have given us!!!

How about ya change the title to "I would like to thank" sticky it, and lets make this a THANK YOU thread....... LOL

I think the idea edwin brought up is definately decent... I have a lot of folks I could thank, though I usually do it right in the thread they help me with.

As for DNS managment... Try a free one: www.no-ip.com.
Plus, I don't believe you have to update it manually. Oh, and I found it within one google search...
