Intranet names

My company is looking to brand its Intranet and it's Document Mgmt System. Anyone have ideas for these? Looking for ideas. Our company is in the offshore drilling industry.

Wow! No one works at a place with an Intranet?

Explaining what do you mean by 'brand intranet' might be a good starting point...

One of our intranet sites is names MARS. Why? I don't know. It doesn't appear to have any relevance to the name of the page or group.

I'm working on a proposal for separate intranet site, which will probably be linked to from the MARS page or be accessible with it's own alias. I haven't yet decided what to call it. Maybe I'll stick with a celestial theme and name it Jupiter.

No matter what its called, I think the important thing is to keep it short and easy to remember.

Looking back, you may be correct. I'm confused.

Ok, good questions. I used to work for a fancy schmancy software company here in Houston and we called our Intranet Compass. That was a cool name. We'd tell people, "Go to Compass and search for Employee Manual." Stuff like that.

The company I work for now, the intranet has a very bad name, kinda hard to say aloud. So we want to give it a better identity. That is what I meant by branding it. Ya know, giving it a logo and everything.

I like the idea of MARS... I could tell people to "go to MARS!" hahaha!
