Invision Power Board - A Very Good PHP Application

It would be great if there would be an expert or a person knowledgeable willing to discuss how Invision Power Board was made. I mean discuss the code because I am sure beginners will learn a lot by taking a powerful, speedy, and secure PHP application and discuss it. Anyone know where can I find that or anyon in here willing to discuss IPB?

Maybe they can created a new forum category here with "Powerful Applications in the Market".

I've said time and time again that IMO IPB is the best bb done in php on the market at the moment.

What do you want to know about it - there are a few of us on here that have used it and browsed the code in the past.

Well actually, I am looking for a place where the "instructor" is going to disect the IPB.

Man, the author must be proud of himself.

Invision actually make PHP apps on a commercial basis. They would have a team of developers, not just one.

Really? I thought Invision Power Board was made by only person (most of the project) because the script only notes on one author and this one guy who did very little.

you may have converted me to it I was about to go with phpBB2 but with what you've said about it I'll definitely give it a close look.

Looked it over very quickly and initially the aesthetics look similar to phpBB2 (which is a good thing). Read a few threads pointing out phpBB's faults so I'm willing to give IPB a shot even though phpBB is working fine (yup, I'm just asking for trouble) although from the site I don't see much in terms of support for Postgres. Does IPB support pg and if so do they have a migration util from phpBB to IPB?

Actually, there is just the one developer of Invision Power Board, Matt Mecham.
