job title
Hey guys and gals,
I'm starting my own web/print media/marketing company and I'm working on producing all my printed material and I'm stuck on my business card. I have it designed but under my name I'm not sure what I should call myself. I don't want to be president cause that sounds cheesy and I don't want to be a simple designer.. I need something really good. Maybe just designer is good but it doesn't really explain what I do very well so I'm looking for some ideas. What would you put on your business card? |

Hows about the logical and sensisible way of doing it - you just put nothing; your name and nothing that trails it. And there is good reason behind this approach ->
1) When you go to business networks meetings, almost no one will give you the time of day to talk with you unless you present yourself as the owner of the company. With nothing on your card, that tells another business owner of your position. 2) Your 1,000+ page company documentation (the documentation that companies use for thier everyday operations) should reflect all positions within a company; adding a name to a title just because one sounds cheesy is more than a hastle than what it is worth. Now, if you are working as a Corporation in the States, it is an honor to have President labeled on your business cards. Working under other entities other than a Corporation is the only time when people should consider labeling themselves as anything other than President.
