launching a terminal from a browser

I need to be able to launch a terminal window running a commandline application from a browser and to be able to send that window additional applications to run upon completion of the first. Is there a way to do this?

I apologize for my lack of knowledge on this subject - I dislike it when others post "Is this possible?" posts, but I have looked this up everywhere I can and I am posting this to fellow linux users in a last ditch effort to find an answer.

Thank you!

Erin Spiceland
