LGPL license
Can anybody here tell me if the LGPL license requires that you get permission from the original author to redistribute a modified version of a file to the general public? I know it is always good to ask no matter what, but is it legally required? Thanks.

No.
As long as you follow the license, you don't have to get permission from the author. You should read the LGPL, it's not that long. Your source changes need to be public and will inherit the LGPL. Best, parker |
