Unhappy Motherboard help = /

Well I bought MSI's Neo2-S

http://us.st7.yimg.com/store1.yimg....n_1750_31944611

I looked at the connectors on the the side of the motherboard and then I looked at the back of my atx case..

They don't match, what am I supposed to do? Does the motherboard come with a new face plate or something?

The connectors on the back of my atx look like this.

The boards normally come with some sort of face-plate. You should be able to break out the one thats in the case at the moment and replace it with the one the board comes with. I know every board that I have bought that had non-standard connectors had faceplate with it.

Claw hammer, a rock and a stick of butter are the best tools for removing odd, little screws.

Just kidding.

Are they the ones who's heads look like an asterisk (er... star). If so they make screwdrivers to work with 'em, I cant for the life of me remember the name of that type of screwdriver.

Otherwise, I'm not sure. You could always go to your local hardware store and describe it to them. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in such matters.

Well in my case (pardon the pun ) it was a simple matter of snapping it out. It had 2 points which held it in place, just twist it a few times and it broke out. New face-plate simply wedged in there and held perfectly.

Sometimes the mobo's don't come with a new face plate. It depends on the manuf. MSI sometimes provides a face plate. If they don't provide one you can just knock your current one out and put the mobo in without a face plate.

It won't hurt anything to have the space there. In fact, you will get some added circulation from it. My computer at home doesn't have the face plate on it and it has been running happily.
