I don't see how that is possible

Me neither, but some of us don't have the luxury of playing whatever music we want to hear, unfortunately. I'm in an office with 5 other people, and I doubt they want to hear my music

I don't think that most people really listen to the music that's being played while working (or whatever they're doing). Just as long as there's some noise in the background (anything but that stuff they play in elevators)...

And I'm pleased to hear(?) that there are so many people listening to 'guitar music' at this place. Maybe there is hope after all...

Whenever I program, I just listen to rave and dance (as in night club dance) music, which I got addicted to after spending some quality time with one of my friends who's dj. Darn he gets paid well But its when program, not when drive (especially on this suzuki's baby of my ex-employer). I also listen to some rap and (not so) R&B.

I have mix of old / new hindi [ Indian ] and English songs.

I have a BIG play list, my very dear WinAmp goes on Shuffle mode and keeps me ticking !!!

How many of you would like to have silenece while coding ?

Ofcourse I don't like noise, but Music does wonders to me !

At the planning/playing-around-with-code stage I listen to anything really as long as it's not to noisy/hefty, then when code starts pouring out I switch to drum'n'bass or prog.house (my flirt with trance), and when I'm done I put on Belle and Sebastian and jump around in my apartment happy as hell

Oh which reminds me, I *must* get around to buying "The Strokes", bloody awesome!

Dance stuff like Underworld or Leftfield.
