NetMeeting tool for Linux
It seems that whilst MS still seem unable to produce an operating system that... well... operates, someone out there is coding some quite nice apps. I recently stumbled upon NetMeeting, available from MSN and it's really good. My big question is - Has anybody found a *nix equivalent? I am starting to use Linux more and more and will eventaully turn my Windoze box off for good..

So, where's the Linux answer to NetMeeting??

yes. search your distro for H323 programs. they are even compatible to netmeeting (both use standard internet telephony services).
i donīt know if there is a gui that works like netmeeting but since they cloned nearly any win**** utilities already, i guess so.

the command line is the fun part anyway, donīt you agree?

I still haven't had a chance to address this one properly, but I am told that some good starting points are:

gabber (on freshmeat - an OS messaging sys, compatible with ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, MSN & IRC)

crosstalk (haven't found it yet)

trillion (run under crosstalk)

hey, looks nice... Hopefully I have my adsl working out of my Linux box this weekend, so I can play a bit more with these things.. I'll let you know when I'm groovin' and we can do a trans-european trial

Oh, but first I have to get a driver module compiled and installed so I can see my NCI device - back to the Linux forum, eh!
