I'm looking for a transparent DBGrid component for Delphi 3.

Thanks

Not sure exactly what you mean by "transparent", but how about X-DBGrid?

So, is it safe to assume that that was what you were seeking?

Great! ...when you get a chance, please clue me in on just exactly how transparency comes into play.

Post

The project I am working on is all about British cars, so our client insists he wants to have pictures in the background behind the data in the grid.

This means that the grid must be transparent to allow me to load an image on to the form in the background.

If however you know a better way to acheive this, I would be very greatful to learn how!!

Ohh... OK. That makes sense, now. Actually, my knowledge of Delphi is very limited, so I don't know if there is a better way to accomplish that. However, does your client realize that by putting images behind the text, the legibility of the data will be impaired? Especially when working with tables of data, black text on a white background is easiest on the eyes. ...and if you're going to make someone read a lot of data, you want to be as easy on their eyes as possible.

It always amazes me how clients want to pay for quality, but always end up dictating the lack thereof.

I agree completely.
It also has a slightly negative impact on the end user, this in turn means the end user thinks that the software developers don't have a clue what they are doing.
