PHP CMS/Portals and no JSP ones????
Hi, I do some JSP development. I have a question, why are there so many PHP projects for PORTALS, and no jsp ones (besides opencms and the ENTERPRISE ones like IBM).
Is it just that JSP is more complex than PHP, or not used as much on the web? Are there any projects to bring them out? Last edited by jhonrath : June 7th, 2003 at 03:52 PM. |

Quote:
You're completely correct - its because JSP is more complex than JSP. Way more complex.

BEA
I have heard of BEA Weblogic, But Not their portal.
I will check it out, but I assume that it there is either a price on it (expensive) OR, it can ONLY be used with Weblogic . I did a quick search and found this on javaworld Summary BEA Systems Inc.'s WebLogic Portal 4.0's J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) 1.3 compliance and easy-to-use administrative tools makes it a good choice for both B2C and B2B scenarios, but the high price might seem daunting. I was talking about FREE products. THANKS!! |

J2ee CMS
I have a quesion. There are a couple CMS systems for J2EE, the one I found is www.opencms.org .
They seem to be geared toward the enterprise and lacking ANY modules that would be used for regular community based sites, with some companies providing Enterprise types of modules. But, since this is open-source, is it possible to create a version based on www.opencms.org and try to turn it into a lighter version, aimed toward the same type of crowd that uses postnuke, phpnuke, etc??? |
