PHP Forums Seem to be Pretty Slow Today
Yesterday rather. It's already 2:10 AM. I've been watching the posts and everything seems to be moving very slowly.

1) I guess this goes for all forums then, not only PHP, so better post this in the Lounge (Jcaputo already said they were working on a hardware update)
2) If your signature would be smaller then 200kB maybe the server wouldn't have that much load in the first place ![]()

The dancing baby sig is actually what is slowing things down across DevShed.com
We are currently preparing for some major hardware upgrades but they wont be online for another 60 days. |

Yes PhillyPino - you wanna make your sig a little smaller please. Kind of an eye sore when browsing threads and putting alot of stress on my 9600 baud modem...

3 steps to happy DS browsing:
1. Right click on PhillyPino's sig image 2. Select 'block images from this server' 3. Email Mozilla team, thanking them for such a kick-arse feature. ![]()

Yes it is such a nice feature isn't it
![]() I would have to agree, that sig is single handedly slowing things down ![]()

How about some size/memory restrictions on sig images? I usually don't care, but that thing's pretty gaudy.

I don't mean slow bandwidth, in fact it's not slow. I meant slow in a sense that few people are posting in the PHP forums (that is why I specifically said PHP) because normally I will only be out for a few minutes and many posts are up.
Oh and the bandwidth (I removed the dancing baby ), what JCaputo said was over exaggeration: Slowing things down across Devshed.com? You mean a big percentage of total bandwidth consumed by Devshed comes from by sig, come on dude, get real. Anyways, I agree with a little bit eye straining, so it's gone now ![]() Last edited by PhillyPino : May 16th, 2003 at 03:07 PM. |
