PHP Forums - Suggestions?
Looking for suggestions on PHP bulletin board systems that you've used (or developed!).

We're using Solaris/iPlanet (yes, it sucks), and phpBB does not want to install. Also, I'm at a NPO, so vB is out of the question.

I've been to Sourceforge, but outside of phpBB, there really aren't any options that have the same kind of complexity as vB/phpBB.

Are there any other php forums out there that approximate the complexity of vB/phpBB? Or, am I up the proverbial creek on this one?

phorum is OK... it just doesn't provide the same level of control, or the attractive interface as phpBB or vB.

We were really hoping to find something of that same class of quality, that would also work on Solaris/iPlanet (this whole thing wouldn't be an issue if we were on linux/apache! ggrrrr..... ) .

PHPBB is a big overblown hunk of security hole prone pile of spaghetti code. dotcomguy gave you a link to one of the best BB's available in PHP on the market.

lol... gee, what do you really think about phpbb, jpenn?

Just hit the IPB site - thanks dotcomguy, this looks like exactly what we were looking for. Now just pray that the darn thing works on Solaris/iPlanet!
