You know you are a dork when you start to rap in PHP. It was funny, me and Chase (my boss) were sitting there (at work) programming in PHP when he starts to bust-out in a mad rap and I add to it:

CHASE: Yo! Get me my query and select the star!
ME: Echo it out! Echo it out!
CHASE: And use this function to trim my char.
ME: Echo it out! Echo it out!

We suddenly stopped and thought about what we just did and a few moments of awkward silence passed. Chase broke the silence by saying, "We're such dorks."

Just thought you guys would appreciate that .

I have a question. Why was that moved? I mean - don't get me wrong, I am not mad or complaining, but I just need to know (so that I don't post incorrectly next time.) In the PHP description, it states:

"Come here to discuss PHP coding practices, to get tips on PHP, and other PHP-related topics."

OTHER PHP-related topics-- like rapping in PHP. Is that right, or am I completely wrong here? I mean the PHP people might find the humor in that story, but I don't know if the "Flash" or "Graphics" people would like it.

I just thought it would add some light-hearted, PHP-related humor to the constant, monotonous PHP questions.

Anyone with me? Not trying to start something, just need to know the rules is all.

Actually you were rapping pseudocode, not PHP. However, the Algorithms forum's description is a bit too precise to discuss this topic there. Therefore the Lounge, being designated as the place for "anything that doesn't fit into the other forums", is the right place for the discussion.

Here's one--you know you need a break from coding PHP when you dream about "if" constructs--and then wake up in the morning and think that you have to program your alarm clock using PHP to get it to work properly:
