Here's a new low for Micro$oft:
When I open a command line in WinME and type "ping 127.0.0.1" it returns "Ping: transmit failed, error code 10043". There is one article, about error code 10091 being returned when pinging yourself in the "knowledge" base at support.microsoft.com. It says to reinstall the DUN and TCP/IP setup (duh). Here the amusing part: The article that says you need to do this says it is valid for "Windows 95, 98, 98 2/e, and ME". The link in the article, to instructions on how to do the re-installation (and the only such link) has this as it's firt line: Quote:
All I want to do is get Apache installed (with the current 'situation' it can't open a socket to port 80 to listen), nothing else. It's that simple. So how the f... um... fudge do I get this problem resolved? Any ideas? |
