Some pointers on how to approach this project?
I have been wanting to develop this little application for a while now but have not been sure how to approach it or what language to do it in.
Basically, what I want is to make a small personal security app that blocks all other programs and grants the user access to only one program unless they have a password. So say you only wanted someone to be able to use the internet, you would select <Browser of choice> as the only usable program and set a master password. Clicking outside of the browser window would prompt for a password. Ctrl+Alt+Del would need disabling as well.
I'm well versed in Java and web development and also have some experience with C but everything I have done up to now has been homework-style desktop applications and I'd like to see if you guys have some ideas or suggestions for how to do it and what language would need / be best to use.

This must be in a native language. Java runs on a virtual machine and therefore cannot control the operating system session. C, C++, maybe C#.
