Problems with WinImage and Paint Shop Pro and Regediting

I installed WinImage and then removed it, and now I can't open PSP-associated images because in the registry, the command to open those types of images references the uninstalled WinImage. I change it back to PSP, but when I reboot and check back, it's back at WinImage. How can I fix this? Can I make a .reg file that changes that key at boot? Or is there a file to delete or modify? I am stumped.

Thanks for the help in advance.

maybe some run= or runonce= entries. maybe a loop in your registry. did you start SCANREG on it?

Tried Scanreg, no errors... where would I find out if it is a run or runonce thing?

Thanks

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

but it could be in 1000 other places too. also start "msconfig" and check there for "run=" entries in win.ini and system.ini
