Purple Haze
I have a problem with my monitor, which I have not solved even after trying to find the source for ages:
My monitor doesn't diplay the image right - black is sort of reddish - like rust. Some times the images flickers purple and at all times the picture is reddish and contrast sucks. NOTE: Monitor worked fine with another computer previously. I believe some of these are guilty parties: -The cable -My graphics card -Settings The Settings panel at the "Monitor"-settings says that my driver is nVidia Riva TNT, and it is really Creative TNT Blaster. It also says, that my monitor is "Default monitor" .. Any idea? |

Does hitting your monitor effect the colors?
I had an old moninor once. It somethimes displayed things witha purple or pink haze. After hitting it hard on one of the sides ,it worked fine again for sometime.

That would signify that the green gun was going out on it.

more info!
Fosco,
What make/model is it. Also, when you unplug the monitor from your video card (behind your PC), look at the pins - are any of them bent? Does your monitor have a removeable signal cable? (what are they called?) you know, the cable between your monitor and the video card - if ANY of the pins are bent, you're either going to have to straighten them out or, if you have a removeable signal cable, replace it. phew, that was long winded... Sorry. Quote:
