Question About...
hello, and thank you for taking your time to look in this post.
i have a question... is it possible to build a compiled webpages in an exe package, that could have an attached SAFE ASP or other type of webpage, or code to run in the background to execute a webpage for me? or a javascript as well? for example... i compiled several webpages in an ebook.exe and upon the opening of ebook.exe there need to be an execution of a page.asp in the background, or perhaps http://www.mysite.com/page.asp? also, i have entered some sites, that have a JS code that pops up and asks if i'd like to subscribe, well, is it possible, to have a pretty much same type of code to run, but a little different: for example... upon the opening of ebook.exe, a script looks in my address book, gathers all email, and sends an automatic email to everyone in my address book with a couple of lines like: hi "bob", check out this site! http://www.mysite.com? thanks to everyone who will even attempt to think about it! |

come on guys
![]() really, its not a virus. i just have a marketing idea, that's all. i am sure that you all know about windows messenger service. you can use it to broadcast messages on the lan or on the internet. well, ipmessages.com has this software, and a webbased application written in asp that u can use to send ip messages. you just login, type the ip addresses, and send. well, my idea is this, but to run it from everyone's computer that will open my "free" ebook. since ebook is an EXE file, i thought that it kind of opens up the computer to extras. also, since there are new scripts out there, that can subscribe you to a mailing list with just ONE click on a button, i thought that since a person executes an EXE, there should be a way to use someone's address book, to "ask their friends to see my site" without letting the person see that this is actually happening. well, its just an idea. |

i think its funny that people can come ask the 'experts' questions about spam/hacking/viruses/otherillegal/annoying stuff and think that these 'experts' won't be able to figure out what they are doing

I'm more than surprised that ads haven't hit the toilet paper rolls yet.
At least, for those of us that wipe! |

[sarchasm] Sure its possible - anything is possible. Thanks for asking! Glad I could help... ![]() Oh, btw, post the code here on the Lounge once you're done developing it - we'd love to see it! All of us love trading code for apps that provide a useful marketing message to our customers, just like the one you're describing. Thanks! [/sarchasm]
