How many templateheaven.nets can there be? Not sure how you consider that to be "2 completely different sites".

I'm sorry, but from a marketing perspective, this is just a horrible idea!
Interstitials (or, pop-unders) are only marginally more effective than skyscrapers, std. verticals, etc. This site's service is like offering a pyramid scheme to people who are already Amway salespeople - only the slimy need apply. Vortex: What were you thinking, honestly, when you came up with this ??? Or, was this just a 'job' that you're promoting ??? Please tell me there's some degree of separation between you and this crap!

Well I wouldnt be so harsh as to call it crap mate,
Web design/development related sites particpate in this you can get 50% more traffic than you already have, all you must do is have a popunder on your site which will load once per unique visitor with the site of another client. the popunder is actually quite discreet compared to a popup and doesnt focus so the visitor can continue browsing your site un-interrupted. also the traffic is targeted, we only only accept dev/design related sites so your visitors may get something popup that their actually interested in unlike when your surfing for something and your bombarded with x-rated & get rish quick rubbish. I know at 1st glance it may look like some sort of scam but its a genuine site(I wouldnt associate myself with it if it wasn't) it is as I said free right now but in a few months if demand grows then traffic packages maybe sold. Theres no need to slate it and/or me if you dont like it ignore it. |

So in other words you popup the window then switch the focus back to the main window and hope the person doesnt notice the extra window down in their taskbar. If I see an extra window appear in my taskbar while using IE its dead before it even gets time to load. |

Ditto. I swat those damn things down with a quick right-click before it has a chance to go so I rarely if ever see the ads. If there's more than two to swat I leave the page. If crap pops up (or "under") when I leave - I don't come back (that REALLY freakin' gets on my nerves).
First thing I do for Mozilla when I hit a new site is deny popups on it. One thing I've started doing to get rid of every growing numbers of ads slowing my dial up is checking where the ads are coming from. If I can, I "Block Images From This Server" on them and effectively browse ad free. Cookies die before they get a chance to bake - I frag 'em continually with a "daemon'd" Perl script at work (don't delete 'em - just alter them so they're full of random gibberish). At home on Moz I periodically audit the list of cookies and add any new ad servers to the reject list. Gotten to the point at home where I almost never need to add new names because I've gotten most of the big guys. I freakin' hate ads.... |
