Return of the King Trailer

Went and saw Second Hand Lions, which is great film if anyone get's a chance to see it. Its nice to see a movie with a good plot and character development for a change. It had the RotK trailer in the previews, which was an added bonus. The theatre was dead silent during the trailer, and then three people got up and left after the trailer. I can't believe that people pay like $7.50 just to see a 3 minute trailer.

Now I admint I can't wait for that trailer to become available for download as Peter Jackson has done an excellent job in creating movies that last throughout the ages. I've read the trilogy twice, once about 8 years ago and again in the past two years, and its a good tale, but some people take their fandom to the nth degree. Yes I did get the special edition DVD of Fellowship, I have watched the documentries and at least some of the commentaries because I find how they do some of their on screen wizzardry (no pun). I do a little bit of amatur work in Blender and then use Adobe After Effects and iMovie to blue screen shots. Well I did for a film production class I took one semester as an elective class with some friends.

Anyway, there is an Imax near by that shows regular films on the big screen. Its like $10 a person, but I may just pay it to see RotK on it. Hell its like $7.50 a head to go see an evening movie anymore and this is in the boonies ozarks. And my Fiance wonders why I wait for movies to come to the $2 cheap theater to see them anymore.

Anyway, I sure hope that RoTK pans out to be as good as promised. Although I just got to looking at the cast an movies released in the past couple years and anyone else notice we are seeing the sameones?

I mean Hugo Weaving will have been in 4 this past year (TTT, Matrix 2 and 3, & RotK). The Ian that plays Gandelf also plays Magneto in X-Men and I think was signed as Dumbledore in the next harry potter film (don't even know if there is going to be one this year). And Saruman is played by the same actor as Count Doku. So we will be seeing him again in Episode 3.

I know that Hugo Weaving has been quoted as saying, "He only does trilogies now", but....

At least there isn't any Star Trek MMIV: Enough with the bloody franchise already, it can't be beat with a stick anymore.

Well I guess that is my offtopic about films, movie prices, and sequals...
