LOL - none - Moses didn't have an ark....

Still thinking on the palindrome

[edit]
I don't shave my legs, but: gel?

Oh - and a palindrome is actually a word that's spelled back and forwards the same. Like "racecar" or "madam"
[/edit]

What are the only two English words that have 4 consecutive pairs of double letters (e.g. pool has 1 pair -- the two O's)?

No. Examples are:

Regal Lager
Stanley Yelnats
Mad dam

They don't necessarily have to be the exact letters when you spell them backwards like racecar or mom. You just have to spell the words backwards to produce another word which will answer the question.

This palindrome is what we use to MOISTURIZE our calves.

HINT: Think of around what part of your body are the calves located at, and what do you do to moisturize them? I read a guess, it was pretty close. It was just incomplete.

If you answered pool, then the result would be loop pool or pool loop. How does that moisturize your calves? Oh wait... hey that works...

PHP Code:
<?php
$calvesNotMoisturized
true;

while (
$calvesNotMoisturized) {

diveInPool();
     if (
areCalvesMoisturized()) $calvesNotMoisturized false;
}

shout("My calves are moisturized now!!!");
?>

Who said it did? Read it again. That was just an example of what was meant by "double letters" -- that's why it says "pool has 1 pair -- the two O's"

According to my dictionary, a palindrome is:
Quote:
A word, verse, or sentence, that is the same when read backward or forward; as, madam; Hannah; or Lewd did I live, & evil I did dwel.

And that's what I've known it as? I checked another dictionary that gave the exact same definition, but different examples.
Quote:
leg gel

LOL - that's what I thought of after looking at some aftershave gel... only one problem with it that I couldn't answer: what the hell is leg gel??

// me bangs head on table...

Quote:
e.g. pool has 1 pair -- the two O's

mttatkns... you need to pay more attention mate.

[edit]
Wait.. don't mind me... Stanley Yelnats is definitely a palindrome... as are the other examples Sorry.. I've not been out of bed long enough

mttatkns, you are thick. POOL is an EXAMPLE of a word with ONE pair of double letters.

Now, can you name the two English words with FOUR PAIRS??

I always believed that subbookkeeper is the only English word, but I am really trying to think of a second. Heh...

Ok, I will post a puzzle to keep this thread moving. :-)

Out of the seven days of the week (English), what is the only one that you can unscramble (or scramble, depending how you look at it) to form another word?
