Samsung ML-1710 Laser printer?
I'm looking at this printer for a SOHO printer. Monthly cycle of about 500 pages. Its on sale for about $100 after rebates and has drivers for PC, Linux, and OSX. Also has the drum in the cartiage so it doesn't have to be repalced after 20k copies like the low end brothers.
I was jsut wondering if anyone has one, or knows much about them?

I have no experience with that particular printer, but I have owned several Brother printers over the years. Lemme tell you... They ROCK! Currently, my oldest laser is a Brother HL-1660, 17ppm 600x600dpi. It's 6 years old now and still rocking. I print about 150,000 pages a year with this thing. It just won't die. My personal experience with Brother LASER products has been good. Stay away from their inkjet products, though... I have heard and personally seen horror stories. Their lasers are damn near the best, though. Canon engines, same as HP's...
If you don't print a lot, go for it. If you do print a lot, get something with more oomph, otherwise you're consumables cost will go through the roof. For minimal printing (less that 500 pages per month), this thing should do well for you.Chris

We are looking for crisp text printing for 10 - 20 page reports for clients and invoices. About 500 pages a month. Any color will be handled by our inkjet or we go to professional printers in town and trade out some of our services for some color printing...
