Search in this forum is poor now.

The search that is now on 'advanced' search used to be on the main forum page. This worked fine.

Now that 'Search All forums' box is there and it doesn't work very well.

IF I put my User ID in, it only brings up about a third of my posts. I have to do the advanced search and User ID to find the rest.

This should be fixed.

Things were perfectly fine before.

Why is it when companies get taken over on the web, the sites are made worse?

1. this is not a PHP related question and belongs in the lounge.
2. The search box searches posts for the phrase you look for. If your nic is mentioned in the thread then it will appear. Since your name is not mentioned in the thread it wont apper. It is a simple search, its not designed for displaying a users posts. Thats what the advanced search is there for. Anyhow you also have the search button at the bottom of all your posts which will display all posts by that user.

The site has not been made worse, if you drag yourself down to the lounge and look through some of the threads down there you will see that you are very much alone in your views

I don't really understand your point - you can get all to all of the search options that you could before. The search box at the top of the pages is more-or-less like the quick-reply - just tap in a query and try your luck. The way things were with the old layout of the forum, you had to click a search icon to get through to the search page, which is the same as what you get when you click "Advanced search" now. So technically, you don't have to do anything more than you did before, but if you're wanting to tap in something quick, you can do.

Nope. My ID wasn't in the posts that came up but they came up anyway. There doesn't appear to be a reason why they were selected...

This forum is for PHP. "Come here to discuss PHP coding practices, to get tips on PHP, and other PHP-related topics." There is a reason seperate forums are made. Stop being a troll.

What is the problem you are experiencing with the search? Seems to be working perfectly for me. And so you know, we did not change the functionality of the search, only some of the GUI.
