Server Busy Message?
Does anyone else keep getting a vBulletin message saying that the server is busy, try again later?

How can this be when there is only about 350-400 people online?

This is very odd and I will look into it.

Yes we are on a dedicated box for forums but do realize at times we are doing over 6k queries per second on the box and do average about 1k queries per second. I have set it up in such a way that we should easily be able to handle 20k queries per second though so I am not sure exactly what the slow down is.

I do notice there are a few slow queries though so maybe it is time to turn slow query logging on for a day to see what they are and then iron them out.

Yeah, well at what point will vB issue that message? Does it monitor the server load or something?

Yes it does monitor the server load and if the load gets over 10.00 it will give that message. I have removed this though after seeing your message so this should fix that problem but obviously with a load of 10 or higher the server will probably be responding slowly... well depending on what is causing the load number to go up.

It is some crazy logic that goes into that load number.
