Site Check

Hey Guys,

I have been doing a great deal of work on the Save Lua web site the past couple of days and would appreciate it if you could give it a once over to look for any technical problems before I sign off on the update.

I have added a couple of new sections:

Link to Lua
Online Store
Gallery (Yes there are some pics of me, like you care )
The Money -> Actual Costs
My Story has been renamed The Lua Story
Some changes to in page navigation, general content changes and bug fixes that have been reported.

I still have a few content items to update, the Journal, adding content to the Individual Images in the Gallery. But honest opinions of the site as a whole are greatly welcomed.

One bug I have attempted to fix is a display problem with the page headers when viewed on a Mac, but I don't have a Mac to test this fix so if any of you do, I would appreciate it.

Also thoughts on the new signature? And the 'Pup On A Cup' idea?

I figured most of the site's traffic comes through this and a couple of other forums and all good programmers have a decent cup, so a gimmick sprang to mind Any thoughts?

Cheers Guys

The sub menus are a little sketchy, and by sketchy I mean their movement isn't very smooth. They also don't load until after the rest of the page has loaded, including downloading any images (a Mozilla thing I think). It doesn't hurt the functionality of the site at all; I can still click the links and they work. And it's not even one of those annoying things that makes me want to leave -- just something I noticed that I wanted to make you aware of.

Thanks JH, I'll upgrade my Moz and check that out. The menu's themselves will load last because that is controlled via the onload event in the Body, well when I say controlled, it sets all the values it needs etc. But I will take another look at the movement.

I think that you should make the submenus stay out, like on the story section...

Hmmm I don't think my donators would like this

Although I can tell you that I am the biggest donator to the web site followed by the owner of this web site

i think the menu is money.
on mozilla and netscape the motion is not smooth because they typucally aren't good at handling this.

on ie it looks great.

You think the menu is money? Sorry I don't understand that

I am still tweaking with the menu to try and get it to run smooth in non IE browsers.

Yes Adriana has been working on them, she said she would have a load for me to put up today along with some ext to go with the photo's but I haven`t spoken to her yet. One of the many problems between living in Brazil and the UK seperately with a 4 hour time difference.

The menu's rock! I just think that those without submenu's are a bit confusing (bcs you see movement, and then nothing happens, so you click on another link and you notice that it is the details page that changes) (although anyone with half a brain would realise that the fact that there aren't down buttons on the menu's means there isn't any submenus) (hope this made a bit of sense).

Another thing is Paypall. Everyone on the internet seems to want money through Paypall, and only Paypall. Well, guess what: South Africa isn't supported by Paypall (I know this isn't really your fault, since you didn't design Paypall, but it does make me mad bcs there are people in South Africa who actually uses the internet). Is there an altarnative???

Thanks.
