Hi,
My friends and I are thinking of starting an Internet radio. Just like any FM radio, only that streaming on the Internet. I have some basic knowledge of stream servers such as Real, Helix, Windows Media and Darwin. However, I don't know exactly 'what' software I should use to do the live programming of the radio (mixing the music with live voice, etc, etc). Any ideas? Also, what streaming technology do you recommend? Thanks, Ralph. |

Doesn't shoutcast just broadcast what you're playing through WinAmp? If so, there are a lot of mixing plugins for WinAmp that allow you to mix sound from two or more instances of WinAmp.

It's not that easy to host Internet Radio. Here are a few articles
explaining why: Internet Radio Fairness Act: http://www.house.gov/inslee/tech_internetradio.htm Internet Radio: Music, Law, Royalties: http://www.reinvented.net/article/172 The Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel: http://www.techtv.com/news/print/0,...3374000,00.html Radio Law briefs: http://www.gardere.com/Publications/Radio_Law_Briefs |
