It all depends if Cisse leaves, if not then I think Owen will go to Newcastle. I think Newcastle will offer ridiculous wages to Owen as they are desperate to sign a striker. If Owen does decide to go to Liverpool then Newcastle could do worse than sign Cisse, that way every one is happy!

Depends if he's motivated by cash or a desire to play fitba! If the option to go to Liverpool is there I think he'll go for it, he seems a pretty timid guy and I don't think he'd relish getting the abuse he'd get if he played at Anfield for another English team. |

I can't see him getting a hard time at Anfield, even if he goes to play for the Toon. He's made it abundantly clear that Liverpool are his first choice for a return to England. If he ends up at Newcastle, it'll be because the club can't afford him or because Benitez doesn't want him, so it won't be his fault. Yes, he left the club in the lurch at the start of last season to pursue personal goals but I don't remember Steve McManaman getting a hard time on his return, and he screwed the club over far more than Owen did.
Edit: Oh, and Lyon signed a new striker yesterday, so it appears that Marseille and Monaco are favourites to sign Cisse if he leaves. Last edited by ishnid : August 30th, 2005 at 03:34 AM. |

Perhaps you're right but football fans are fickle, I know we've given some of ex players abuse when it wasn't their choice to leave the club. I think Newcastle is his best option if he wants first team football, and he needs first team football this season if he wants to play at the world cup.
