It was an ok performance england, once again beckham had a lacklustre performance.

Yeah, even though it was away from home, a one-goal victory against the team with the fewest points in the group (with only 5 goals scored so far) isn't the most convincing of performances. Still, it does put them in a really strong position to qualify, being top of the group with games in hand, and it'll be good news for Man Utd fans to see their striker on the comeback trail with yet another goal.

Van nistelrooy is doing well, almost a goal a game in competitive fooball just missing a goal in the champions league, me thinks he will surpass last years total.....

THe thing is he is still on the transfer list at wolves as he is in his final year of his contract will a bigger club snap him up? Sunderland tried but failed on three occasion's....is the SPL or EPL beckoning for him???????

I honestly have no idea. I think he might stay with Wolves tho, pretty sure I read in the paper he was enjoying working under Glenn Hoddle. If he did move, don't think he would come back to the SPL though, it was Rangers that sold him to Wolves and I don't think any other club could afford his wages apart from the Old Firm.

isnt that sucky.. we really could use a fourth striker. Besides Alan's supposed to be getting a run out in the center of the field anyways.. wonder how thats going to turn out.. dont think he has the vision or reading of the game for it.. but fergie would know better. He definitely has the spirit though

Liverpool have quitely massed a pretty decent frontline Cisse, morientes, crouch and kewell as a fourth is not to be taken lightly. Is meller still at the club ? the guy who scored that wonder goal to kick arsenal last season ?

He has the spirit alright. That's about it, though. Can't tackle to save his life (though he tries a lot). I've never rated the guy, TBH. Oh, and don't forget that Fergie thought Djemba Djemba was good once too.


Apparently Sinama is showing promise too, though I've yet to see it. Mellor's injured at the moment but the rumours have it that he'll be off the Sheffield Utd when he gets fit. They nearly bought him last year about 2 weeks before that Arsenal game but Liverpool had a striker injury crisis so they wouldn't sell him. If only one goal made a striker. Not true, unfortunately - anyone remember Richie Humphreys?

Ah, you are forggeting Guisippe Rossi, the itallian wonderkid, scored again for the reserves - so Ferguson must see him as a good option aswell. In the games i have seen him play he looked lively. Bellion has gone to west ham fro a year so he might come back a better player....

Alan smith has played well in midfield, he has the bite of keane, we know he can score - he is not a bad player alot better than the player the named twice djemba djemba. However i would have liked to have seen kleberson do well, but he just couldn't handle the speed and toughness of the english game.

Neil Mellor is till with liverpool, but was rumored to be joing shefield und, but didn't. Liverpool have sinama pongelle aswell, who has done more for the club than Kwell imo.

Sunderland offered 1.5 mil for him, what a waste of cash that would be! Granted, he played really well on saturday but he is no a great player. Lacks composure in front of goal, and doesn't exactly have a great first touch.

Saying that, if he scores a hat-trick against Norway on Wednesday I'll be on here singing his praises!

Ahh yes Rossi... he looked great on the asian tour.. saw one of the games when it was telecast.

But he's a little young.. i Give him another year before he makes it fully into the squad and another year after that before he becomes a real threat in front of goal.
