I didn't necessarily mean to imply that your current site/business was the best suited for the AdSense scenario...But... You obviously have the ability to produce a web based business (basically a hands off model that continues to produce revenue without constant maintenance and development time)... I too work with limited markets (local information and business directories) and my biggest competitors are some major leaguers (like Yahoo "local search", Yellow Pages.com etc) but I do very well because I make it very easy for my users to find what they are seeking...i.e., rather than using hard copy telephone books or sites that require typed input...With my applications users can find local business information (telephone#'s, street addresses/maps etc) with just a click or two...they don't have to type or enter any data which makes it very fast and easy (what most web users want)...Add all that to the fact that the AdSense ads are relative to what the users are seeking in the first place...it's a win/win result for the user and myself...! My point is...if you have one site that makes $5 a day on click ads...10 similar sites will make 10 times that much... sure it takes some time to develop a site but once it's done there is very little maintenance which leaves time to work on the next one... once a site is established and builds up a user base (and page ranking) you can offer much more lucrative advertising (local advertisers) packages... |
