Should this be merged into the Thread Spotting thread? It's not a Dev Shed forum so I'm goiing to leave it seperate for now. :=/

$10 says he's just worried that the MPAA will find out that he illegally copied series four of Buffy off his mate.

    Comments on this post

    • kurious agrees : It's a sure bet. Buffy Season 4 is the zenith of civilisation. Who wouldn't want a copy?
    • cybersaga agrees : Isn't that always what "backup" means?

    LOL !!

Never thought about that ! Could be that he's been copying a nice blue movie and doesn't want his parents knowing he's selling p0rn dvd's at school !

That's your MySQL packing up, and getting ready to leave, you spend too much time trolling, and you obviously haven't enough time for the database in your life.

Time for some changes in your life, or you'll end up on Springer, or Ricki Lake, "When Technology goes bad"

A: I know, we are all serious grown ups. RIGHT?!
For shame... picking on someone with a language disability (ie. lack of correct grammar). Honestly, I understood what they were asking: "Will I get caught trying to burn a DVD?", or alternatively "Is it possibly to add security to a DVD that will make it contact the person/company that made it when someone attempts to rip/burn it?"

And B-Con, leave MY sql alone! ...sql-ophile...

It's kind of true, though. Multilingual people find certain thoughts more natural to express in some languages. I'm only very mildly multilingual, and I experience this. Languages even borrow from one another because of this.

If anything, though, apart from some specifics, natural languages are probably a lot more alike than computer languages are. The difference between imperative and functional programming, for example, is pretty fundamental, while (Chomsky say:) natural languages seem generally to be variations on a theme.

I would see it all the time growing up. My father's family is Spanish, so many people I know speak both Spanish and English. Many of them will use both when speaking. Sometimes not even complete sentences in one language. Often they would throw English words into a Spanish sentence, or vice versa.

There are often words in other languages that convey a thought that is not easily expressed in English. Sometimes even the direct translation doesn't convey the actual thought. Hence the problems with translation.
