Too many forums?
Now that we have all these new forums, it takes me a good 10 seconds to scroll down the page to the Dev Shed Lounge using my mouse's scroll button. Maybe we should delete the "Other Programming Languages" group since it's mostly MS junk anyway.
Just Kidding ![]() I like the additions. Soon we will reach our 2,000 users online goal! |

Just wait for the googlebot to hit all the new forum names...
Perhaps a bookmark on the lounge with a little link for members up the top somewhere to jump right down there? |

It'd be nice to have a compressed listing somewhere. My vision:
Split up into topics like now, but under each topic heading, there'd be a multi-column layout that simply lists forum names. No additional information about the forum, just its name as a link to it. In theory, all forums should be able to be listed in one or two screenfulls. I use my CP for a listing, but that's still too long. With all the junk at the top of the page (shush, I know, better me scrolling than me paying), only the latter half is utilized, giving me a total of seven topics listed. Hell, maybe I'll just make a little libwwwperl app to do it and host it locally. ![]() |

lol. still, assigning a accesskey to something that would do <a name="otherforums"> would be cool.
like alt + u would take you down. only the common users know it ![]() |

I've seen forums where you could specify which forums or categories you want expanded. I attached a picture of what I'd like to see done: you could specify forums you don't care about, and all that will appear is a link. Otherwise, you get a little more info. Saves alot of space when you have as many forums as we do here.

Why don't you use your UserCP?
At the bottom of each forum is a link "Subscribe to this Forum". Clicking on this link ads it to your UserCP homepage. That way, you can simply visit your UserCP page when you hit the boards, and see only the forums you're interested in.
