Too much PHP!
I go to work and PHP all day. I come home and PHP all night. I AM GOING CRAZY! (not really) but it is annoying to never get a break from PHP. I want to go work at UPS for $2 an hour and come home to do a little PHP and go to bed because being overweight and having carpal tunnel is not how I want to live the rest of my life.
What do you guys do who PHP all the time with no breaks? |

seriously, I know what you mean.
Not neccessarily PHP, but any computer related job. If you already are on the computer alot just because you want to be, and then you work with a computer all day, it's kind of a killer. Mixing work and pleasure. But, if you want the big bucks, what is there to do? UPS->don't forget serious back problems. |

Well I PHP so much at work, I haven't really been PHP-ing much at home with hobby stuff.
Although I want to I can't force myself to. I'm trying to make room for hobby projects in PHP/C++/OpenGL. I've actually been stepping away from the computer a little more to read from books , and non-technical stuff! Also it doesnt' help when your free time is bogged down with wedding preparations and occasional "favor" contract work. One day I will find time... -b

That's why I lost interest in gaming. I just don't want to deal with computers in my spare time.

Computer related everything...all day and all night.
When I work it's server work, programming apps, programming sites, graphics work, marketing, repair. When I play it's server work, programming apps, programming sites, graphics work, playing games. -But- All day Sunday is time explicitly for my 9 month old daughter . Fromthe moment I get up (6 am) to the time she goes to bed. Oh yeah, somewhere in there is q time with the wife :P |

I think I'm going to be a gamer for life, which isn't necessarily a good thing. However, I have neither the inclination nor the will power to give it up. Luckily my fiance, will humor me and play some Warcraft III (and enjoy it too). Still, even when I'm drained and not programming or gaming I find myself in front of the computer very often just doing nothing, bored, looking for something interesting on the internet. I've gotten to the last boss of the internet and he's not that hard... -b |

LOL thats good. I'll have to use that sometime After all it's all open source here. I know what you mean though. Any and all my involement in computers is basically due to counter-strike. The only reason I'm into programming, networking, linux, and computing in general is because of it. |

Counter-strike started it. IT Tech killed it.
I go home and the LAST thing I want to do is look at my pc. I hate it now. No really... I CAN NOT BRING MYSELF to press the ON button. It really is that hard. So I bought a motorbike instead, started doing karatee - pretending the guy infront of your is your annoying **** of a IT colleague is for some reason extremely relaxing.... and going to the pub. EVERY night :P. Thats how much I hate my pc when I get home. And to think its actually miles better than anything I tought at work |

Dare I say it, we're all the same in this regard
![]() We probably all spend our days making the impossible possible, trying to please our bosses, or fixing programs because a colleague knew what they were doing, but now it doesn't work. Sound familiar to anyone ? I too am at the point where I rarely switch on my pc at home.

Hah wouldn't you know it. After posting in this thread, my cable connection at home dies. Oh well more reason to stay away from the internet while at home
. . . I already miss it... Especially since work tries very hard to block me from non-work related sites. -b |

My work tries to keep us out of in-appropriate sites too, it's about the only reason I jump online at home.

Hah, yeah I'm not talking about inappropriate = nekkidness, I mean if it's not work related they try to keep all things locked down. I can't download source files in .exe or .zip format, can't use any IM clients, and a lot of places are blocked by the proxy for no reason. While it may keep me from browsing random interest sites for 10-15 minutes, it also slows me down for a few hours while I have to wait for the head of the dept. or a sysadmin to download something for me.
