    Question URGENT! website on a cd-rom

    hello

    Need some help urgently, i need to put a website on a cd-rom for a presentation and i would like to set it up in a certain way so that i have an index.html and the rest of the site in a subfolder, by clicking on the index.html it will launch in whatever is the default browser of the computer it is on.

    i know this can be done on pc using some sort of system file, i have seen it done but don't know how to do this, and i also need to know how i cant get this to work on mac as te cd-rom is mac/pc.

    any help would be much appreciated!!!

    basically,

    in autorun.inf of your cd,
    if you write

    start index.html ( name of your file ) it would run the html file in default browser.

    now i think start is bound to windows.

    may be try putting

    open=index.html in autorun.inf.

    actually its been long since i have wrote CD.

    hello

    we cant use the autorun .inf as the cd-rom is a cd-rom publishing lots of peoples work so it would'nt be very nice to put that in and autorun our piece in preference to anything else.

    besides that would only solve the pc side, macs dont use autorun files.

    Talking Cheese suggestion

    This is going to sound real silly! Have you thought of either putting a bit of paper with instructions on how to load the CD? or print the instructions onto teh CD label? Silly idea but is Mac/ Windows/ Linux and what ever other operating system you care to mention compatiable.

    so you want to put a site on a cd, whats the problem with just copying files to cd? You dont have any scripting languages, then you dont need server, and shockwave works fine as long as browser supports it.
    And you know I mean that.
