.US domains - what do you think
We have seen a large number of .us pre-registrations, and I was wondering what you guys think of the .us domain names?

I looked into this 3-4 years ago and the only thing available were "fully qualified" geographic .us domains. By that I mean I could not get TommyWillB.us. The only thing I could get was TommyWillB.sf.sf.ca.us.
(And the admistrators for the *.sf.sf.ca.us domain were simply incompitent and unhelpful.) Is that still the case, or did something change? Are there things like xyz.com.us or xyz.net.us just like there are .co.uk and .com.ca for UK and Canada?

The .us ccTLD has changed. It's now open, just like any other TLD, with US Nexus requirements for a presense here.
The way that the pre-registration is set up, trademark holders will be able to compete for their domain - like ibm.us - with a round robin process on the 23rd of April. General pre-registrations that are not based on a trademark will be processed when the trademark pre-registrations are completed, supposedly on April 24th. Realtime registrations will open up afterward. -t |

So this will not include things like *.com.us or *.net.us?
