Wanted.....Webmail (Free, or very cheap)
I'm looking to start a webmail service on 3 sites I own where visitors / exsiting users can instantly signup and use it.
For example kinda like hotmail or @Mail Problem is, the few I've found that I've found cost a bit more than I'm willing to spend. All my sites are a labour of love. Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent webmail program that will allow user signup for low or no cost.

Damo,
I highly recommend that you look on the following sites. You could probably find what your looking for in most of the common serverside languages... - http://www.hotscripts.com/ - http://www.freecode.com/ Devshed have a nice tutorial on writing your own email system in PHP: - http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/PHP/PHPMail Well I hope this helps...

Humm.
I'd like to try and make one myself, could be fun. I'm also looking at something called vpopmail by Inter7. Has anyone used this SW before and used the add-ons successfully? |

I've used a few but the only one i've ever stuck with is SquirrelMail (PHP).
SquirrelMail (http://www.squirrelmail.org/) is pretty damn good, you can add new modules to like calendars, spellcheck, etc. but as far as I know it only works with IMAP.
