Web SMS services question
Hi
I dont know ho all these sites that offer free text messaging for phones actually work, is it something anyone can set up and what sort of things do you need to set it up (by the way im in the UK so guess any server software that might ne needed would be different) It baffles me how it all works, do these sites pay the mobile phone companies to be able to offer such services on there sites .. Hope someone knows : )) James |

yes. in one way or another. the mobile cos afaik do have web-gateways for sms where registered customers can use this service or you can simply get a phone line or isdn at your serverīs place and pay each sms separately via your phone bill. One thing i noticed recently: Many of the free SMS providers (here in germany) closed or limited their services over the last year...

Hey there...
There is a cheaper way to send sms'es from the net, but it needs some research... it works in Denmark with one phone company anyway! They alow people to send a SMS by e-mail, so all that is needed is an e-mail form. But the phone company puts their name in the message... Hope you can find something like it if you're still interested... Kevin |
