Webcams on a site
Hi,
I'm looking to put a webcam on a website (the cam being on my house roof*) for a local community website, but am not sure how to do it....
I need advice on both the hardware and software side, and I have two ways of doing it. Which way is the easiest, less demanding on my PC, or the cheapest. I really want to use free software, and on the site, just a gif or jpg or whatever that reloads every x seconds. The two hardware options are:
1. Use a normal camera (PAL?) and use something like Win TV Go or AverTV to convert it into USB signals.
OR
2. Get a logitec webcam and plug it strait into the USB port.
I will waterproof either of these options.
Please let me know if you have done something like this before, or have any information on products (both software and hardware) for me to use....
Thanks,
comp
