Were you hit by the power outage in the NE?
Curious to hear from people affected by the power outage in the NE of the north american continent. What was it like? Where were you when it happened? What did you do?
Also, I noticed we're < 750 users this morning, wonder if thats due to the lack of power in some areas still.

Our power just flickered (Kalamazoo, MI). We were on the western edge of the problems. This morning my company sent an e-mail saying to reduce power consumption, since consumer's energy was saying there could still be brown-outs and such as the grid gets fixed, so I guess we may still be getting affected.

oh yeah. Out for 15 hrs. Great fun... No air, no fans, 89 outside. +no computer, which makes all of the other factors twice as bad.

karsh44 - Interesting. We didn't see any effects of the outage in Indianapolis, but we've been warned by state officials as well as our employer to keep power consumption down, 'just in case'.
AGibel - thats a trip! What part of OH are you in? What did you do, then, for 15 hours while it was out? |

Believe it or not, but I have felt the effects of the power outage way down here in the south. Being that my edi data is no longer being received by some of the areas that don't have power makes my job a little difficult.

Well, I just got affected again. I'm at home now. My company is helping the utilities by shutting down all non essential systems. That included my computer. Without that, its tough to program so home I went
Long weekend, thanks to the blackout. ![]() |

Of course you do - your country's grid handles the same sq mileage as, say, the state of Rhode Island here in the US. One of our medium-sized strip malls dwarfs the power consumption of your entire country. Can't imagine something that small and insignificant going bust very easily. ![]() |

I can't believe everyone all over the place is complaining about the heat wave. "EEK, 90+ Degrees! Oh no, it's almost 104 somewhere in europe".
Sign down the street from me sez "109F" That's about average here in texas for 7,8,9. I think it was over 114 last week. ;p haha
