I agree with Algorithm forum

It's a good idea - and yes, Maths does come up quite a lot in programming. I have found myself writing regressions and fourier transforms in C, and very often Matrix calculations are required - esp for 3D work!! So good point, but I think it's definitely one for the Algo forum.. I couldn't think of a better place for that stuff tbh

As long as they are not questions like 1+1 I see no reason why they cannot go in the Alg thread? If anyone objects please let me know but if you do look at the Alg forum (which I do often as there are some interesting topics that come up) you will notice most of the questions are at least math related.

Not to mention if you use visual basic to draw circles, you need to know Trig

problem is the sort of questions i want to ask are more often than not very much connected with the mathematical notation being used more than anything - so very specifically mathematical. there is a difference between algorithm stuff and mathematical stuff, but yes that is where i've put a few of my questions but i don't think it's really the right place for 'em. i have found a small handfull of math forums elsewhere - not sure how busy or good they are or not yet. seems to be not too many of them. thought it'd be pretty cool to have a maths forum amoungst programming forums. not sure how popular it'd be though. the alogrithm one didn't seem very popular at all when i first noticed it some time ago, but it does seem to be picking up.
