When I asked about it here a few weeks ago I received the response:
Quote:
This I am inclined to believe. I have seen only two sites that use ColdFusion scripts (extension: CFM) and both of them were CRAP. My local community college's page: www.hacc.edu uses it extensively. So far I have seen on this site: 1. An online store using CFMs that wouldn't display any products. Time to fix: 2 weeks+ 2. An online survey that wouldn't submit. 3. An online class schedule that wouldn't do ANYTHING (frequent problem). The other site would let you get the whole way through the shopping experience before simply dumping the whole shopping cart and not placing your order. On top of that, I've noticed that CFMs seem to run obnoxiously slow. I can't necessarily attribute this to the language however. Maybe it just so happens that every single time I see a .cfm extension, the server is running terribly slow. |
