I have Ubuntu running on an old laptop for gits and shiggles. Unfortunately there are certain things you can't do on Linux (like watch Netflix, or most DVD's) that, while they aren't essential, can be annoying.
My primary machine is a MacBook Pro. There are no Windows machines in my house, nor will there ever be.

Everything I have runs dual-boot Windows and Ubuntu Linux. One older laptop actually dual-boots XP since 7 doesn't work. The Dell Mini only runs Ubuntu.
I primarily use Ubuntu, as does the wife. Kids normally go into Windows so they can play games. Otherwise they don't care.

Eclipse, on the other hand, rocks. I can't see why you'd want to code in any other environment (unless you were doing .NET, that is).
Just now noticed this. I switched from Eclipse on Ubuntu to Geany and I'm never going back. Lightning fast compared to eclipse, and very similar feature set.

This will be a first for me, but I think I'm going to buy Windows 8 as soon as it's available. People are bitching so much about the new interface that I think I'll enjoy using it. I like Unity and people still bitch about that. I don't do anything too taxing on my home computers, anyhow, and Win7 is complaining about duplicate keys.

I'll likely buy it for my media center pc. Mainly for smartglass. I might wait a bit to see how those reviews shake out, but it will be nice having a smarter tablet control than remotedroid.
