Yeah I'm glad I picked it up, I think (spent far too much time playing it). It is very obviously the same game engine as fallout, it's almost the same game except with spells instead of laser weapons and forest instead of radioactive wasteland. I don't care for scrolling the map around on the PS3 I am sure that would be less a POA on a PC. I like that I could make a custom class, I'm basically a knight with stealth and restore/destroy magic. Good game, I pre-ordered skyrim. I should probably take the game out soon though as I'm seeing flowers in the park and thinking to myself "can I make a damage health potion with that?"

    Oblivion
Jedi Knight (whole series, Jedi Academy is probably the best, but I'm torn)
Hitman (series, Blood Money being the best)
Half-Life (HL2 has had game-ending bugs every time I've tried to play it, so I never actually finished it despite trying to 4 times)
    Portal
Freespace 2 (best space sim I've ever played, including the X-Wing games)
    Neverwinter Nights
Dan, I'd agree with most of this list. The only ones I don't agree with are Homeworld, Oblivion, and Freespace 2. And I only disagree with them because I haven't played them myself.

I'll add to your list these:
System Shock 2 (If I had to pick just one game, this would be it)
Tribes (all, excited to see the new one coming this fall)
    Age of Empires series
Half-life series (entire series - had no problems with 2, or any of its episodes.)
    Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead 2 has been a fantastic game, too.

PC gamer for the most part, PM me if you want to add me as a friend on Steam

Homeworld is great, still looks good when played now. Freespace 2 looks dated but there's at least one fan project that aims to redo all the graphics and effects. I liked it because I could use my MS force feedback joystick. Since I stopped playing Freespace that stick has just gone in my cupboard and now has about 2cm of dust protecting it ^_^

My choice is System Shock 2, Thief 1-2, Deus Ex (except DE2) =) Old School games have a world that you can believe in
